About the Role:

As a key member of the petroleum operations team in Qatar, you will play a vital role in the exploration, development, and production of the country’s hydrocarbon resources. This position involves working on high-impact projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible operations.

You’re Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day petroleum operations, including drilling, production, and reservoir management.
  • Conduct technical evaluations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for new and existing wells.
  • Collaborate with geologists, drilling teams, and project engineers to develop and implement field development plans.
  • Monitor production data and reservoir performance to optimize output and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all operations comply with Qatari regulations, international standards, and internal health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Identify and apply innovative technologies or methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support cost control initiatives by recommending efficient processes and managing operational budgets.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to ongoing training and development initiatives.

What You Bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geosciences, or a related field; advanced degrees are an asset.
  • Proven experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in upstream operations such as drilling, reservoir management, or production engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge of petroleum systems, drilling technologies, and industry software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, WellView, etc.).
  • A solid understanding of HSE standards and best practices in accordance with international and Qatari regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with experience in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
